Social relationships will be fully artificial through platforms that analyze, commodify, and manipulate every interaction. AI will generate suggested responses to friends messages, gradually replacing authentic communication with algorithm pleasing exchanges optimized for engagement metrics. Connections between people will be evaluated primarily by their commercial potential and data generation value.
Reality itself will be increasingly filtered through augmented interfaces that modify what you perceive based on commercial priorities. The world you see will be different from what your neighbor sees, each of you receiving a personalized version of reality optimized not for truth but for maximum behavior modification potential.
The most insidious aspect: this system will celebrate itself as liberation. 'You're free from the burden of ownership!' 'You're free from having to make complex technical decisions!' 'You're free from the opression of privacy!' The marketing copy writes itself, promising convenience, simplicity, and personalization while delivering dependence, opacity, and exploitation.
This isn't science fiction, it's the logical extension of business models already in operation. Each quarterly earning call pushes technology companies further toward these outcomes. Each convenience we embrace without critical examination brings this future closer. Each digital surrender erodes the foundation of autonomy upon which meaningful human existence depends.
You will own nothing, not by choice but by design. And despite the cheerful corporate bullshit slogan, happiness will be replaced by a profound digital slavery. Your existence will become a perpetual state of dependency, where every moment is surveilled, every choice is manipulated, and your humanity itself is exploited as just another resource to be harvested.
